Regular Season Round 34: Kauhajoki - BC Nokia 73-91

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (20-12) against sixth ranked BC Nokia (14-17) on Saturday night. Host Kauhajoen Karhu was defeated by BC Nokia in Kauhajoki 91-73. The game was mostly controlled by BC Nokia. Kauhajoen Karhu was better in fourth quarter 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Nokia made 16-of-16 charity shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian Sefton Barrett (196-83, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Javier Duren (193-93, college: Yale) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Five BC Nokia players scored in double figures. BC Nokia's coach Ville Tuominen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Devonne Giles (203-83, college: Texas Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Kauhajoen Karhu. BC Nokia maintains sixth position with 14-17 record. Kauhajoen Karhu at the other side dropped to the fourth place with 12 games lost. BC Nokia will play against bottom-ranked UU-Korihait (#10) in Uusikaupunki in the next round. Kauhajoen Karhu will play at home against the league's second-placed Salon Vilpas (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
