Second Stage Round 7: IK Eos - Eskilstuna 112-109

Important game to mention about took place in Lund. First ranked IK Eos (12-1) saved a 3-point victory at home edging their biggest opponent Eskilstuna (11-2) 112-109 in the fight for the first place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Eskilstuna. It was a key game for the top position in BEHS forts. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-15. But Eskilstuna won second period 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IK Eos forced 28 Eskilstuna turnovers. Strangely Eskilstuna outrebounded IK Eos 62-43 including a 41-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. IK Eos brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for guard Gustav Sundstrom (197-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Adnan Karovic (188-88) helped adding 19 points and 9 assists. IK Eos' coach Axel Wallin used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Hannes Widell (183-94) scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. IK Eos have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place in BEHS forts with 12-1 record. Eskilstuna at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. IK Eos will play against Helsingborg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Eskilstuna will play against Huddinge and hopes to get back on the winning track.
