Regular Season Round 26: Souffel - CFBB 98-52

Bottom-ranked CFBB is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 26th consecutive match to third ranked Souffelweyersheim (18-8) 98-52. The game was mostly controlled by Souffelweyersheim. CFBB was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 5 points in third quarter. Souffelweyersheim dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 24. Souffelweyersheim had a 26-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Souffelweyersheim players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by CFBB's players. Lithuanian power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists to lead the charge for the winners and DR Congolese-Belgian power forward Ruphin Kayembe (200-92) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Souffelweyersheim players scored in double figures. Forward Ivan Fevrier (203-99) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and guard Sofiane Briki (190-99) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Souffelweyersheim maintains third position with 18-8 record having just two points less than leader Caen. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings. Souffelweyersheim will play against Gries/Oberhoffen (#12) in Bischwiller in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will play at home against the league's leader Caen (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
