Regular Season Round 26: Vitre - Quimper 63-73

Very expected game when 13th ranked Vitre (11-15) lost at home to second ranked Quimper UJAP (19-7) 73-63 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Quimper UJAP. Vitre was better in third quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vitre to just 6 points in first quarter. Quimper UJAP made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Burke is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. Montenegrin guard Nikola Korac (185-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 assists and Montenegrin center Aleksandar Radulovic (207-83) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Vitre. Quimper UJAP maintains second position with 19-7 record behind leader Caen. Vitre lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Quimper UJAP will face Angers BC (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vitre will play against Vendee Challans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
