Regular Season Round 21: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Hyeres-Toulon 85-70

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (9-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (16-5) 85-70. It looked good early as Hyeres-Toulon took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Pau-Lacq-Orthez had a 22-12 second period charge getting the lead and Hyeres-Toulon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-85. Pau-Lacq-Orthez players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hyeres-Toulon's players. It was a good game for the former international center Alain Koffi (207-83, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville, agency: Two Points) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Paul Carter (205-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Inception Sports) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and point guard David Michineau (191-94) added 11 points in the effort for Hyeres-Toulon. Four Pau-Lacq-Orthez and five Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Hyeres-Toulon's coach Kyle Milling tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. They moved-up to second place. Hyeres-Toulon lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be Strasbourg IG (#6) on the road. Hyeres-Toulon will play against Le Portel (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
