Regular Season Round 22: Mataro - JAC Sants 83-72

There was a minor upset when higher ranked JAC Sants (7-12) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Mataro (7-12) 83-72 on Sunday. Mataro shot 61.1 percent from the field. Mataro outrebounded JAC Sants 36-19 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Miralles Miralles (192-97, college: Rio Grande) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Mataro players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Sergi Marco (194-91) responded with 14 points and 7 rebounds and Albert Real (189-97) scored 19 points and 4 steals. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mataro have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place in Group C-A, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated JAC Sants. JAC Sants lost third consecutive game. Mataro will face higher ranked Castellbisbal (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
