There was a minor upset when higher ranked JAC Sants (7-12) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Mataro (7-12) 83-72 on Sunday. Mataro shot 61.1 percent from the field. Mataro outrebounded JAC Sants 36-19 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Swingman Miralles Miralles (192-97, college: Rio Grande) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican power forward Jose Cabrera (206-84) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest.
