Regular Season Round 23: L'Hospitalet - Zamorano 91-90

Fifteenth-ranked Zamorano (5-18) made lots of trouble for twelfth ranked L'Hospitalet (9-14). L'Hospitalet managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected easier game. L'Hospitalet outrebounded Zamorano 42-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Zamorano helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Alex Reina (192-89) accounted for 18 points and 4 assists for the winning side. French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) came up with 21 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American guard Chris Hansen (193-93, college: Idaho St.) added 21 points respectively for Zamorano in the defeat. Five L'Hospitalet and four Zamorano players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted L'Hospitalet maintains twelfth place with 9-14 record. Zamorano lost their fifth game in a row. Zamorano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with 18 games lost. L'Hospitalet's next round opponent will be higher ranked Moron (#7) in MorĂ³n de la Frontera and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zamorano will play at home against the league's second-placed CB Granada (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
