Regular Season Round 21: Segle XXI - Ensino 69-65

Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Segle XXI and 9th ranked Maquinaria Ensino had identical 8-12 record. This time Segle XXI used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lugo 69-65 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maquinaria Ensino won third quarter 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Segle XXI dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Maquinaria Ensino's 26. It was a good game for Sofia Galeron (186-99) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Silvia Serrat (183-99) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Segle XXI's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Forward Raquel Asensio (178-83) answered with 16 points and guard Tamara Montero (168-94) added 14 points and 5 steals in the effort for Maquinaria Ensino. Segle XXI (9-12) moved-up to ninth place in Group A. Loser Maquinaria Ensino dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Segle XXI will face ADBA (#13) in Aviles in the next round. Maquinaria Ensino will play at home against Azkoitia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
