Regular Season Round 16: Kanazawa Sam. - Fukuoka Rizing 48-64

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kanazawa Sam. (25-3) in Ishikawa on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by second ranked Fukuoka Rizing (24-4) 64-48. It ended at the same time the 22-game winning streak of Kanazawa Sam.. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Brian Butch (211-84, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and Ghanian-British forward Matthew Bryan-Amaning (205-88, college: Washington) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Fukuoka Rizing's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American-Panamanian forward Gyno Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St.) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Fukuoka Rizing maintains second position with 24-4 record behind leader Kanazawa Sam. Kanazawa Sam. at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face Otsuka A. (#3) in Tokyo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kanazawa Sam. will play on the road against Tokyo Cinq R. and is hoping to win this game.
