Very expected game in S'Arenal where 13th ranked Sitges (3-15) was crushed by fifth ranked Palma II (11-8) 99-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Palma II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field and had 22 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Sitges only scored six points from the stripe. Palma II forced 25 Sitges turnovers. Guard Joan Reda (186-94) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Carlos Bustamante (200-88) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Palma II players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Eduard Riu (202-82) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Gerard Gonzalvez (191-93) scored 12 points. Sitges' coach Eduardo Pinero gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Palma II maintains fifth position in Group C-B with 11-8 record. Sitges lost fourteenth consecutive game. Sitges at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 15 games lost. Palma II will face Vive El Masnou (#9) in Barcelona in the next round. Sitges will play at home against Castelldefels (#10) and hope to win that game.
