Regular Season Round 21: Banco di Srd - The Flexx PT 81-75
Date: March 5, 2017
Very expected game in Sassari where 9th ranked The Flexx PT (10-11) was defeated by fifth ranked Banco di Srd (12-9) 81-75. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The Flexx PT was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 41-33 second half run of Banco di Srd. They made 27-of-35 charity shots (77.1 percent) during the game, while The Flexx PT only scored nine points from the stripe. 26 personal fouls committed by The Flexx PT helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Trevor Lacey (190-91, college: N.Carolina St.) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Five Banco di Srd players scored in double figures. The former international center Andrea Crosariol (212-84, college: Fair Dickinson) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American forward Terran Petteway (198-92, college: Nebraska) added 24 points in the effort for The Flexx PT. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banco di Srd moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Betaland Cdo and Dolomiti En. TR. The Flexx PT at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Banco di Srd's next round opponent will be league's leader Armani Milano at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. The Flexx PT will play against the league's second-placed Umana Venezia (#2) and hope to win that game.
