Regular Season Round 3: Gigantes - Marinos 84-81

A very close game took place in Puerto Ordaz (derby !!!) between Gigantes and Marinos. Gigantes (2-0) got a very close home victory over Marinos (0-2). Gigantes managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 on Tuesday evening. Gigantes outrebounded Marinos 32-20 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Axiers Sucre (199-78) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds. International point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91) accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Five Gigantes players scored in double figures. The former international forward Juan Herrera (197-81) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Rafael Perez (193-82, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 19 points respectively for Marinos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gigantes will meet Bucaneros in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Marinos will play against Guaiqueries and look forward to get finally their first victory.
