Regular Season Round 3: Toros - Bucaneros 54-89

Date: March 7, 2017
Rather predictable result when Bucaneros (4-2) rolled over Toros (0-2) in Maracay 89-54 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Bucaneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Toros' 26. They outrebounded Toros 43-27 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 4 assists. International center Windi Graterol (204-86, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (201-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) answered with 17 points and 9 rebounds and American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) added 13 points in the effort for Toros. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bucaneros will face Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toros will play at home against Cocodrilos and look forward to get finally their first victory.
