Regular Season Round 21: Blois - Boulogne 86-80
Date: March 7, 2017
Very expected game when 15th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (8-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked ADA Blois (12-9) 86-80 on Tuesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Frank Turner (178-88, college: Canisius, agency: Inception Sports) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals for the winners and British-Ghanian center Eric Boateng (208-85, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. ADA Blois' coach Mickael Hay allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Teddy Gipson (191-80, college: Arkansas, agency: Court Side) with 21 points and 4 assists and Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (204-88) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for ADA Blois. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Charleville and Lille. Loser SO Maritime Boulogne dropped to the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. ADA Blois will face Charleville-Mezieres (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. SO Maritime Boulogne will play against Saint-Quentin (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
