An exciting game was played in Bucuresti. Steaua CSM faced CSU Sibiu. Host Steaua CSM (13-7) defeated guests from Sibiu (13-7) 71-57. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-57. Steaua CSM outrebounded CSU Sibiu 39-19 including a 29-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) produced 16 points and 5 steals and Montenegrin center Boris Lalovic (207-81) added 15 points respectively for the guests. CSU Sibiu's coach Dan Fleseriu rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Steaua CSM is looking forward to face Oradea (#4) on the road in the next round. CSU Sibiu will play against Pitesti and is hoping to win this game.
