Regular Season Round 24: Cambados - Alcazar 94-77

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Cambados (17-7) beat at home 10th ranked Alcazar (12-12) 94-77. The game was mostly controlled by Cambados. Alcazar was better in second period 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Alcazar 50-26 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Juan Rubio (196-95) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Pablo Villarejo (194-92) who recorded 22 points and American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cambados have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-7 record behind leader Sammic ISB. Newly promoted Alcazar keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Cambados' next round opponent will be Gandia (#14) on the road which should be an easy win for them. Alcazar will play against Agustinos-Leclerc (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
