Regular Season Round 4: Cocodrilos - Toros 90-66

Everything went according to plan in Caracas where top-ranked Cocodrilos (8-0) outscored bottom-ranked Toros (0-4) 90-66 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 24 points. Cocodrilos made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Toros only scored six points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Cocodrilos made 8 blocks. Toros were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Dominican forward Juan Guerrero (201-93, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. Loser Toros still closes the standings with four games lost. Cocodrilos will face league's second-placed Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toros will play at home against Panteras and hope to get finally their first victory.
