Regular Season Round 45: Kumamoto V. - Fukushima 85-59

An interesting game for Kumamoto V. (33-10) which hosted in Kumamoto second-best Fukushima (25-18). Third ranked Kumamoto V. had an easy win 85-59. The game without a history. Kumamoto V. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fukushima to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Fukushima 44-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. American players dominated the game. Forward Reginald Warren (204-81, college: W.Florida) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and forward Joel James (208-94, college: N.Carolina) accounted for 17 points. Center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) came up with 9 points and 6 rebounds and forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Fukushima in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 33-10 record having just one point less than leader Gunma. Loser Fukushima keeps the second position with 18 games lost. Kumamoto V. will again meet at home league's second-placed Fukushima in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fukushima will have a break next round.
