There was a minor upset when 10th ranked Tuebingen II (8-15) was defeated on the road by thirteenth ranked Mainz (8-15) 87-77 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Philipp Schoen (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Indian-American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) who added 16 points and 6 assists during the contest. Mainz's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was forward Rouven Haenig (198-86, college: Missouri Valley) with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Albanian forward Vildan Mitku (200-83) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mainz moved-up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with Stuttgart and Tuebingen II. Mainz will face higher ranked Limburg (#5) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
