Regular Season Round 27: Crailsheim - Uni Baskets 91-72

Very expected game when 8th ranked Uni Baskets (13-14) were crushed on the road by second ranked Crailsheim Merlins (22-5) 91-72 on Sunday. Crailsheim Merlins dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Uni Baskets' 32. Crailsheim Merlins looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Kevin Tiggs (196-84, college: E.Tenn.St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points. The former international forward Konrad Wysocki (202-82, college: Princeton) helped adding 10 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Matt Vest (195-92, college: Wright St.) with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Morgan Grim (203-88, college: Utah St.) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crailsheim Merlins have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-5 record having just two points less than leader MBC. Loser Uni Baskets keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins will face bottom-ranked Titans (#16) in Dresden in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Uni Baskets will play at home against White Wings (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
