Regular Season Round 33: Runa Basket - Cheb.Yastreby 98-89

The game between second ranked Cheb.Yastreby (23-12) and eighth ranked Runa Basket (5-30) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Cheb.Yastreby was defeated by Runa Basket in a tough game in Moscow 89-98. Runa Basket made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Andrey Semenov (201-90, college: JMU) who scored 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Guard Arseniy Metreveli (189-95) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Runa Basket's coach Jovan Popovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Nikita Tkachenko (205-94) who recorded 28 points and forward Nikolay Dolmatov (202-88) added 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Newly promoted Runa Basket maintains eighth place with 5-30 record. Cheb.Yastreby at the other side keeps the second position with 12 games lost.
