Regular Season Round 16: Homenetmen - Hoops 90-76

Pepsi LBL top team - Homenetmen (15-1) managed to deliver another win on Wednesday. This time they beat ninth ranked Hoops Club (3-14) in Beirut 90-76. The game was mostly controlled by Homenetmen. Hoops Club managed to win fourth quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Homenetmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international swingman Nadim Souaid (192-86) supported him with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Homenetmen players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 19 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists by international point guard Ali Mezher (182-94) did not help to save the game for Hoops Club. American forward Omar Thomas (196-82, college: UTEP) added 24 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Homenetmen have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-1 record. Hoops Club lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. Homenetmen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Al Riyadi.
