Grindavik toppled Thor Thorl in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Thor Thorl was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Thor Thorl 43-28 including 34 on the defensive glass. The former international swingman Thorleifur Olafsson (192-84) nailed 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 23 points and 6 rebounds.
