Regular Season Round 25: Gandia - Cambados 91-94
Date: March 17, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Gandia (7-18) was edged at home by third ranked Cambados (18-7) 94-91 on Friday. The guests trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 48-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Brantley Osborne (193-91, college: Shepherd) chipped in 15 points. Osborne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side guard Adria Duch (185-95) responded with 18 points and Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Cambados. They moved-up to second place. Gandia lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Cambados will face CB Tarragona 2017 (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gandia will play against Agustinos-Leclerc in Leon and hope to win that game.
