Regular Season Round 28: Gipuzkoa GBC - Oviedo 87-78

An interesting game for Gipuzkoa (20-8) which hosted in San Sebastian 3rd ranked Oviedo CB (18-10). First ranked Gipuzkoa managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Oviedo CB. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-78. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Joan Pardina (202-93, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Mike Carlson (206-91, college: Truman St., agency: Duran International) contributed with 19 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Brazilian center Felipe Dos-Anjos (218-98) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (205-95) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Oviedo CB. Four Oviedo CB players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gipuzkoa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-8 record. Oviedo CB at the other side dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. Gipuzkoa are looking forward to face CB Prat (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Oviedo CB will play against Melilla Baloncesto (#8) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
