There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Bottegone (11-13) edged at home higher ranked Piombino (12-12) 78-76 on Saturday. Piombino was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Daniele Toscano (196-93, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Milos Divac (202-98) who added 8 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88, agency: Octagon Europe) with 19 points and 5 assists and swingman Camillo Bianchi (194-94) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Piombino players scored in double figures. Bottegone moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with Padova. Loser Piombino dropped to the seventh position with 12 games lost. Bottegone will face higher ranked USE Basket (#6) in Empoli in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
