Regular Season Round 21: Angers - Flammes 62-78

Very expected game when 12th ranked Angers (3-18) lost at home to second ranked Flammes (16-5) 78-62. It looked good early as Angers took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Flammes had a 19-12 second period charge getting the lead and Angers was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-78. They outrebounded Angers 30-18 including 23 on the defensive glass. Flammes players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian center Valeriya Berezhynska (193-86, college: Rice) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Belgian Kim Mestdagh (179-90, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Milica Ivanovic (175-88, college: Catawba, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 16 points and forward Clarince Djaldi-Tabdi (183-95) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Flammes maintains second place with 16-5 record behind leader Lattes Montp. Angers lost their eighth game in a row.
