Regular Season Round 14: KL Dragons - Kaohsiung 103-78
Date: March 18, 2017
Bottom-ranked Malaysian KL Dragons managed to get the third consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they outleveled fifth-ranked Taiwanese Kaohsiung in Kuala Lumpur 103-78. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 25-point difference proves that KL Dragons was well-prepared to that game. The game without a history. KL Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. KL Dragons forced 19 Kaohsiung turnovers. American guard Joshua Munzon (191-95, college: CS Los Angeles) scored 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Skylar Spencer (208-94, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 26 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four KL Dragons players scored in double figures. Filipino forward Raymar Jose (193) responded with 25 points and American-Hungarian power forward Derek Hall (211-90, college: Albright) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KL Dragons have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Kaohsiung lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. KL Dragons will face again bottom-ranked Kaohsiung (#6) in Kaohsiung City in the next round. Kaohsiung will play at home against Alab Pilipinas and hope to win that game.
