Regular Season Round 24: Innova Chef - Ponferrada CDP 69-80

Everything went according to plan in Zamora where seventh ranked Ponferrada CDP (13-8) won against 10th ranked Innova Chef (8-13) 80-69 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-69. Ponferrada CDP made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Haitian-American forward James Cambronne (201-91, college: St.Michael's) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. American guard Sam Prescott (190-90, college: Mt.St.Mary's) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Cambronne is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Dionte Adams (201-94, college: Hampton) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 25 rebounds and guard Guillermo Gonzalez (188-98) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Ponferrada CDP moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B. Loser Innova Chef keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Ponferrada CDP will face Vigo VGO (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Innova Chef will play against Calidus Gal.COB in Ourense and hope to win that game.
