Regular Season Round 24: L Alfas - Almassera 90-80

There was no surprise in Alfas Del Pi where 5th ranked Almassera (2-12) was defeated by third ranked L Alfas (7-4) 90-80 on Saturday. L Alfas outrebounded Almassera 32-15 including a 22-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. American center Justyn Searle (208, college: Concordia, OR) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Four L Alfas players scored in double figures. L Alfas' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Joan Hernandez (184) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Alvaro Dominguez (197-97) added 18 points respectively. L Alfas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group E Descen. Almassera lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with 12 games lost. L Alfas will face league's leader Paterna on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
