Regular Season Round 22: Panionios - AE Larissas 86-60

A2 top team - Panionios (20-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked AE Larissas (10-12) in Athens 86-60. They outrebounded AE Larissas 38-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Sakis Karydas (182-79) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Sotiris Billis (198-96) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Point guard Apollon Deligiorgis (192-93) replied with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Icelandic center Sigurdur Thorsteinsson (204-88) added 13 points in the effort for AE Larissas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Panionios maintains first position with 20-2 record. AE Larissas lost third consecutive game. AE Larissas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Amyntas Dafnis. Panionios are looking forward to face Doxa Pefkon (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AE Larissas will play against Psychiko and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
