Regular Season Round 24: Igualada - Cerdanyola 92-83

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Cerdanyola (6-15) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Igualada (11-10) 92-83 on Saturday. Cerdanyola was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 31-19 charge of Igualada, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was center Eduard Tejero (195-92) who scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Jordi Torres (188-83) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Igualada's coach Jordi Marti used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Genis Tena (186-89) who recorded 16 points and 6 assists and swingman Eric Forne (194-88) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Cerdanyola players scored in double figures. Igualada maintains sixth position in Group C-B with 11-10 record. Newly promoted Cerdanyola dropped to the eleventh place with 15 games lost. Igualada will face higher ranked Barbera (#4) in Barcelona in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cerdanyola will play at home against Pardinyes-L. (#3) and hope to win that game.
