Regular Season Round 24: Casvi - Lanzarote 87-61

No shocking result in a game in Villaviciosa where second ranked Casvi (19-5) smashed 12th ranked Lanzarote (8-15) 87-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Casvi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Casvi shot 25 for 38 from the free-throw line, while Lanzarote only scored nine points from the stripe. Casvi forced 25 Lanzarote turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lanzarote was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Four Casvi players scored in double figures. Casvi's coach Jose Antonio Sanchez felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Cameron Vines (193-93, college: St.Joseph, IN) who recorded 17 points and 6 rebounds and center Pamor Diene (208-98) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Casvi have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 19-5 record having just twenty two point less than leader Meridiano Baza. Newly promoted Lanzarote keeps the twelfth place with 15 games lost. Casvi will face Alcobendas (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lanzarote will play against Quintanar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
