Regular Season Round 24: Rosalia - La Fecha 84-80

Not a big story in a game in Santiago de Camp. where 11th ranked La Fecha (7-14) was defeated by ninth ranked Rosalia (11-10) 84-80 on Saturday. La Fecha trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 27-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 80-84 at the end of the game. They outrebounded La Fecha 43-23 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. La Fecha was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Pablo Posse (203-89) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Power forward Alfonso Mallo (200-88) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Arturo Sarmiento (193-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds and guard Millan Lopez (185-94) added 19 points respectively. Four La Fecha players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Rosalia have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group A-B. Loser La Fecha dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Rosalia will face league's leader Chantada on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. La Fecha will play against Leon (#3) and hope to win that game.
