Regular Season Round 19: Crnomelj - Ilirija 67-95

Undefeated leader Ilirija delivered the nineteenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 10th ranked Crnomelj (6-13) 95-67. It looked good early as Crnomelj took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Ilirija had a 20-15 second period charge getting the lead and Crnomelj was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-95. Ilirija players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian forward Jasmin Hukic (204-79, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Goran Jagodnik (202-74, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Ilirija players scored in double figures. Guard Matic Lozar (183-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nejc Butala (190-93) added 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Crnomelj. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ilirija (19-0) have an impressive series of nineteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Ilirija maintains first place with a perfect record of 19 victories in a row. Crnomelj at the other side keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Ilirija will play against Plama Pur (#5) in Ilirska Bistrica in the next round. Crnomelj will play on the road against Parklji (#6) in Bezigrad and hopes to get back on the winning track.
