There was no surprise when 14th ranked Roma S.Azzurra (4-19) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Cefalu (11-12) 76-72 on Saturday. Cefalu made 28-of-31 free shots (90.3 percent) during the game, while Roma S.Azzurra only scored eleven points from the stripe. Roma S.Azzurra was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Argentinian point guard Emiliano Paparella (180-83, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Marco Mollura (196-93) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Cefalu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Serbian Lazar Nikolic (203-99, agency: BeoBasket) with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and Maltese center Kurt Cassar (195-99) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Roma S.Azzurra's coach Germano D'Arcangeli let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Cefalu maintains tenth position in B with 11-12 record. Loser Roma S.Azzurra keeps the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Cefalu will face Maddaloni (#16) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
