No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sakarya BSB (23-6) beat 5th ranked Afyon Bld (19-10) in Sakaraya 89-78 on Saturday. Sakarya BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Afyon Bld's players. Afyon Bld was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for the former international Kerem Gonlum (208-77) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Point guard Yigitcan Turna (187-87) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Hadi Ozdemir (203-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 22 points in the effort for Afyon Bld. Four Sakarya BSB and five Afyon Bld players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sakarya BSB have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 23-6 record having just one point less than leader Eskisehir Basket. Loser Afyon Bld keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Sakarya BSB will face Istanbulspor (#6) on the road in the next round. Afyon Bld will play against Akhisar Bld and hope to win that game.
