Regular Season Round 23: MIA-RO Cantu - Enel Brindisi 83-77

Another upset was a game between Enel Brindisi (11-12) and AV Cantu (10-13), which took place in Cantu. 9th ranked Enel Brindisi lost to twelfth ranked AV Cantu in a road game 77-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Enel Brindisi. It looked good early as Enel Brindisi took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then AV Cantu had a 19-14 second period charge getting the lead and Enel Brindisi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-83. The best player for the winners was American power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89, college: Purdue) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Zabian Dowdell (191-84, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. American-Jamaican swingman Durand Scott (196-90, college: Miami, FL) produced 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese-French forward Amath M'Baye (206-89, college: Oklahoma) added 17 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for AV Cantu. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with The Flexx PT and Brescia. Enel Brindisi at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. AV Cantu's next round opponent will be higher ranked Auxilium TO (#9) in Torino and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
