Important game to mention about took place in Raanana. First ranked Maccabi Raanana (17-7) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd ranked Hap.R/G Givat. (15-9) 79-76 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hap.R/G Givat.. Maccabi Raanana players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hap.R/G Givat.'s players. The winners were led by American center Josh Hairston (203-92, college: Duke, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) supported him with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Maccabi Raanana players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 23 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Rashad Madden (196-92, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Hap.R/G Givat.. Yaniv Solomon (201-94) added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Maccabi Raanana maintains first position with 17-7 record. Hap.R/G Givat. at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. They share the position with Hapoel B/S. Maccabi Raanana will play against Hapoel B/S (#4) in Beer Sheva in the next round. Hap.R/G Givat. will play at home against Hasharon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
