Regular Season Round 6: Cocodrilos - Guaiqueries 94-69

An interesting game for Cocodrilos (11-1) which hosted in Caracas 3rd ranked Guaiqueries (4-6). First ranked Cocodrilos had an easy win 94-69. Cocodrilos dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Guaiqueries' 32 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Cocodrilos players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Maurice Sutton (211-89, college: Villanova) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. International swingman Cesar Garcia (193-90, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Colombian forward Jackson Zapata (198-85) who recorded 13 points and American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-1 record. Guaiqueries lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with six games lost. Cocodrilos' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Trotamundos in Valencia and it will be for sure the game of the week. Guaiqueries will play at home against Panteras and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
