Regular Season Round 6: Gaiteros - Toros 88-91

Important game to mention about took place in Maracaibo. Fifth ranked Toros (2-6) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Gaiteros (3-5) 91-88 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gaiteros. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) scored 22 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Dominican guard Kelvin Pena (193-80, college: Southeastern CC, agency: Basket Management Solutions) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Toros' coach Ivan Garcia allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Dominican Juan-Miguel Suero (198-93) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Julian Vaughn (208-88, college: Georgetown) scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toros maintains fifth position with 2-6 record. Gaiteros at the other side keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Marinos. Toros will play against league's second-placed Gigantes in Puerto Ordaz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gaiteros will play at home against Marinos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
