There was no surprise when 16th ranked Titans (2-28) were outleveled on the road by fifth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (18-11) 84-52. MLP Academics Heidelberg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Titans' 24. They outrebounded Titans 40-21 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Vance Hall (193-91, college: Bellarmine) who scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Center Niklas Ney (208-95, college: Mercer) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. MLP Academics Heidelberg's coach Branislav Ignjatovic felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Helge Baues (205-94) produced 8 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard RJ Price (180-93, college: Radford) added 9 points respectively for the guests. MLP Academics Heidelberg maintains fifth place with 18-11 record. Titans lost their fourteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 28 lost games. MLP Academics Heidelberg's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Titans will play against Chemnitz (#3) and hope to win that game.
