Quarter-Finals Round 3: Grindavik - Thor Thorl 100-92

Grindavik outgunned Thor Thorl for 2-1 lead in the series. Thor Thorl trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-100 at the end of the game. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Dagur Jonsson (185-95, college: St.Francis, NY) who scored 29 points. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists. Five Grindavik players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) who recorded 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and naturalized Polish Maciej Baginski (195-95) added 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
