Quarter-Finals Round 2: Stevnsgade - Bakken 72-118

Date: March 24, 2017
Bakken overcame Stevnsgade to take 2-0 lead in the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Bakken. Stevnsgade was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bakken dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Stevnsgade's 22. They outrebounded Stevnsgade 50-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. Bakken players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Trinidad and Tobago guard Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St.) notched a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and American John Williamson (200-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Inception Sports) supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Bakken players scored in double figures. Even 30 points by swingman Jesper Sandager (194-96) did not help to save the game for Stevnsgade. Forward Filip Rajovic (190-97) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
