Regular Season Round 15: Saigon H. - Singapore S. 71-86

An exciting game was played in Saigon. Second ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers faced 4th placed Vietnamese Saigon Heat. Guests from Singapore (13-7) defeated host Saigon Heat (8-12) 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by Singapore Slingers. Saigon Heat managed to win fourth quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Singapore Slingers dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Saigon Heat's 48. They outrebounded Saigon Heat 51-30 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Justin Howard (209-81, college: Mercer) who had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Panamanian center Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (214-89, college: Kansas St., agency: Babcock Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and American David Arnold (188, college: Mont.St.-Billings) added 20 points and 6 assists respectively. Singapore Slingers maintains second place with 13-7 record having just three points less than leader Hong Kong ELL. Saigon Heat lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost.
