Regular Season Round 26: Agustinos-Leclerc - Gandia 89-72

The game with biggest result difference took place in Leon. Local Agustinos-Leclerc (12-14) beat 14th ranked Gandia (7-19) 89-72 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Agustinos-Leclerc. Gandia was better in second period 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Gandia 46-33 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Agustinos-Leclerc especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian Bryant Mbamalu (191-91, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Duran International) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. British center Jack Crook (211-93, college: Seattle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Agustinos-Leclerc's coach Angel Jareno used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: Mass.-Lowell) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Jose-Luis Otero (203-89) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Agustinos-Leclerc maintains eleventh position with 12-14 record. Gandia lost sixth consecutive game. Gandia at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth place with 19 games lost. Agustinos-Leclerc will face CB Tarragona 2017 (#13) on the road in the next round. Gandia will play against Zamorano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
