Regular Season Round 23: Trikalla - Koroivos 72-55

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Koroivos' (7-16) road loss to tenth ranked Aiolos Trikallon (9-14) 55-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Aiolos Trikallon. Koroivos was better in third quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Koroivos to just 7 points in second quarter. The best player for the winners was American point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: Long Beach St.) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Naturalized French Angelo Tsagarakis (191-84) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Devonta Pollard (203-94, college: Houston) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Serbian swingman Andreja Milutinovic (199-90) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aiolos Trikallon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lavrio and Promitheas. Koroivos lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 16 games lost. Aiolos Trikallon will face league's second-placed Panathinaikos in Athens in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koroivos will play at home against AGOR (#7) and hope to win that game.
