Second Stage Round 10: AIK - Hogsbo 96-68

Very predictable result when second ranked AIK (11-1) rolled over 7th ranked Hogsbo (3-9) in Solna 96-68 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AIK. Hogsbo was better in second period 26-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Hogsbo's 30. AIK looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Hogsbo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Turkish guard Erkan Inan (195-89) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. The former international guard Olivier Ilunga (186-84, agency: Promotex) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Coach Stefan Jovanovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Lukas Brehm (191-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Filip Sjostrom (200-90) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hogsbo. Newly promoted AIK maintains second position in Superettan with 11-1 record having seven points less than leader IK Eos. Loser Hogsbo dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. AIK will face LF Future (#4) in Lulea in the next round. Hogsbo will play at home against Alvik Basket (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
