Regular Season Round 27: Braunschweig - B.Muenchen 58-80

Date: March 26, 2017
There was no surprise when 16th ranked Braunschweig (4-21) was crushed at home by third ranked Bayern Muenchen (22-3) 80-58. 25 personal fouls committed by Braunschweig helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American center Devin Booker (205-91, college: Clemson) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Maik Zirbes (208-90, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) came up with 17 points and 6 assists and Canadian forward Dyshawn Pierre (198-93, college: Dayton) added 6 points respectively for Braunschweig in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the twelfth consecutive win for Bayern Muenchen. They maintain third place with 22-3 record having five points less than leader Ratiopharm. Braunschweig lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Bayern Muenchen's next round opponent will be Science City Jena (#11) at home and are hoping to win another game. Braunschweig will play against Giessen 46ers (#9) and hope to win that game.
