Quarter-Finals Round 5: Grindavik - Thor Thorl 93-82

Grindavik shot down Thor Thorl to enter Dominos League semifinal stage. The game was mostly controlled by Grindavik. Thor Thorl managed to win third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Grindavik dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Thor Thorl's 36. They outrebounded Thor Thorl 52-30 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Grindavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Dominican guard Lewis Clinch (191-87, college: Georgia Tech) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and the former international guard Olafur Olafsson (194-90) chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) responded with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Olafur Jonsson (192-92) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds.
